Poppy Seed Scones
Simply Scones
- 21/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 teaspoons soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 egg
- 1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel
Combine dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Combine and add juice, egg and peel. Pat into 9-inch diameter circle on greased baking sheet. Cut wedges. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes.
